Product Roadmap
Built (0.1.0)
Working in the Weave CLI 0.1.0 release and the hosted service.
- Symbols as the unit of change: files segmented losslessly into symbols, content-addressed stitches, drafts carried forward by symbol.
- The weave check on the hosted service: atomic workstream heads, local mode with the same engine offline.
- Owners, claims and leases; changes to others’ symbols routed as suggestions; signature-change notices.
- The workstream chain: promote, inherit (auto or manual), change requests and private integration drafts.
- Revert, a hash-chained operation log and undo.
- Prebuilt downloads and one-line installers for macOS, Linux and Windows.
- Decision records versioned with the code, stitch --why capture, [D-id] comments, budgeted retrieval over MCP.
Next
Areas we are actively working toward. Scope and order may change.
- Signed and notarized macOS builds, and package-manager packages.
- A live view of who is working where (weave heatmap and impact-radius checkout are not served yet).
- Loading large repositories without holding a whole workstream state in memory.
- A one-way git mirror for the website, which deploys from GitHub (not built yet).
Later
Longer-term ideas, not commitments.
- Tags: names for workstream heads, to rebuild or compare past states.
- Richer editor integrations.
